Overview
CAP is a separate secure VLAN used by computers and users in the organization to access sensitive student, faculty and staff data. To access it users must submit a service request and fill out the permission form. After access has been granted you may follow the steps below to connect.
How to connect to CAP server
- Go to Remote Desktop Connection
- In the Computer field enter CAPCONNECT, click the show options arrow in the bottom left corner. You will then need to check the box that says “Always ask for credentials”

- Once you have done this, click connect. It will then ask for your Star ID password, after you enter it, it will then sign you into the cap server.
- After you successfully connect to it the first time, when you open remote desktop connection, as long as the computer field says capconnect you can click connect, enter your password, and sign in.
