Connecting to a T-Drive Folder on macOS

Steps:

  1. At the top of your screen, click Go in the menu bar.
  2. Select Connect to Server.
    • In the Server Address box, type the path in this format:
      smb://smsu.edu/smsu_shares/(T-Drive folder name)
      • Important: Replace spaces with underscores (_).
        Example:
        smb://smsu.edu/smsu_shares/HLC_Criterion_4
  3. Click Connect.
  1. When prompted, enter your StarID username and password.
  2. Once connected, you will have access to the folder.
  3. For quick access:
    • Click the + button to save it as a favorite.
    • Drag the folder to your desktop for easy use.

Common Paths

  • Photos (Communications & Marketing):
    • smb://mustangmedia/photo
  • Department Drives:
    • smb://smsudfs/
      Then select the appropriate department or folder.
  • Other Network Drives:
    • smb://itsfs

Logging in as a Different User

Use this format:

smb://(username):*@(DrivePath)
