Software Installation Request for University-owned devices

Overview

The Software Installation Request service allows faculty and staff to request the installation of software on a university‑owned computer.

Many commonly used applications are already available through self‑service tools on university‑owned devices. This service is intended for requesting software that is not available through self‑service or is not installed by default.

Self‑Service Software Options

Faculty and staff can install many approved applications without submitting a request:

  • Windows computers: Use Software Center
  • Mac computers: Use Self Service

These tools allow you to download and manage software that has already been approved for campus use.

When to Use This Service

Use this service if:

  • The software you need is not available in Software Center or Self Service
  • The application requires technician installation
  • The software is needed for teaching, research, or job‑related responsibilities
